2013
Nuclear Energy Institute - Top Industry Practice Awards
Entergy Nuclear received two of 10 Top Industry Practice process awards presented at the annual Nuclear Energy Assembly held in Washington, D.C., and hosted by the Nuclear Energy Institute. TIP awards rank among the nuclear energy industry's most prestigious recognitions. Winning TIPs this year were both Entergy Nuclear headquarters and Grand Gulf Nuclear Station.

The Vicksburg, Miss. Chamber of Commerce named Entergy's Grand Gulf Nuclear Station as the Large Business of the Year.

Entergy was the recipient of the 2012 Governor’s Award of Distinction along with the Laura Bush Foundation, Jackson State University, Home Depot and others that serve as models for community partnerships focused on academics and community development. Entergy also accepted a second award for work done with the Claiborne County School District on innovative educational and community initiatives.

In recognition of her body of work for the industry, her leadership as a woman professional and her dedication to the nuclear energy profession, Donna Jacobs was honored by Women In Nuclear as 2006 GLOBAL WOMAN OF THE YEAR, the first American recipient of this award. Donna Jacobs is the first woman nuclear plant manager in the United States. She earned the promotion to this position at Wolf Creek Generating Station, Burlington, Kan., in 2001. Donna Jacobs, coming up through the ranks, became the first woman Vice President of Operations at a U.S. nuclear power plant. Jacobs came to Entergy in 2005 and is the Entergy Nuclear Waterford 3 Site Vice President.
