Buchanan, N.Y. – Entergy today
announced they are accepting applications for funding through their Safety
Responders Fund. The Safety Responders Fund has awarded more than $1 million to
local fire, police, emergency medical response and other emergency management
organizations since the program’s inception in 2009.
“This program, dedicated for local
responders and emergency personnel in our surrounding communities, has been
greatly received and appreciated by all those it has helped,” said John Ventosa,
site vice president and Entergy’s top official at Indian Point.
The grant program is designed to help
fund training and equipment purchases for first responders in the vicinity of
Indian Point. Fifty-three separate applications have been approved for funding
